Padosan remade in Kannada
Thru Screen

"The re-recording of Pakkadmane Hudgi, which is the remake of the popular Hindi hit film Padosan, is currently in progress at Bangalore’s Aakaash Audio Studio following the completion of its shooting and dubbing. Raghavendra Rajkumar makes a comeback on the silver screen after a gap of six years with this film which has Anant Nag in the role of Kishore Kumar and Mohan as Mehmood. Others in the cast are Ranjitha, Sumitra, Chitrashenoy, Doddanna, Karibasavaih, BK Sankar and Ravishankar.

"Two original tunes (‘Ek Chatur naar ...’ and ‘Mere samnevaali khidki mein ...’) from the Hindi version are retained in this film. A singer himself, Raghavendra Rajkumar did not get an opportunity to sing in this film, though he wished so.

"At the audio cassette release function, the unit paid rich tributes to Mehmood who passed away recently. The late Mehmood supposedly did not charge a penny towards the remake rights for the film. Directed by MS Rajasekar, the film has dialogue by Tadur Keshav, music by Rajesh Ramnath, cinematography by Janardhan, editing by S Manohar and art by Ismail."
